I tested positive after a campaign at my company encouraged us to go for testing. Everything was fine until i tested positive but then my whole life turned upside down. But there was something at the road show of the campaign, that one of the peer educators said, that already made me suspicious. He talked about a friend of his who changed from positive to negative after using the drugs for a few years.

After testing positive my investigation started when my own doctor said to me that I don’t have to worry about the positive test because the campaign tests are just screening tests and it will need to be followed up by an ELISA test. That moment sparked me to search online for the phrase, “false positive HIV tests” and I stumbled on the virusmyth web page which, after a lot of study, led to me not taking any AIDS meds, and not going to the doctor about anything that has to do with HIV or AIDS. Luckily, it seems that my doctor is also ignoring my positive status and is treating me as a normal person for the symptoms I come to see him for.

So, since 2006, I have been positive, and since then I have seen a lot of other people die who thought they were doing the right thing by coming out of the closet and pronouncing their status publicaly. I, on the other hand, am fine and am leading my life as normal as normally as can be.
